Ten years ago it was hard to imagine that a blind man could regain his sight with the help of prostheses. Our protagonists did. Grigory and Antonina have done surgery to insert the implant into the retina. After a long rehabilitation, they successfully use the new “bionic” vision. Antonina can even read text written in big letters. We see the testing of a visual cortex implant on monkeys. The dramatic stories in the film alternate with scientific talks about the device and sense of vision.
